Things have been moving behind the scenes at NZSB and I am excited to announce the re-launch of the New Zealand Snowboarding website. NZSB is the leading media source for all things kiwi snowboarding, representing our people, our community, and our places.
In 2016, three friends sat down over a few cold ones and started an instagram account. At the time, snowboarding in New Zealand had been severely underrepresented with few media sources covering the world class talent, content, and riding New Zealand has to offer. Wanting to create change, NZSB was founded on pure passion and froth. We can thank those three friends, and the many others behind the scenes, for the amazing photos, cool videos, and incredible coffee-table photobooks that have been produced as a result of their hard work to represent kiwi snowboarding.
Inspired by those that have come before me, I approached NZSB with the idea to re-launch the website and add some more written elements into the scene. I wanted to capture and give voice to those who represent the kiwi snowboard scene—you. I also want to help curate history as it happens, making sure future generations of snowboarders have an easy, accessible place where all things kiwi snowboarding can be found and celebrated. Passion is the reason why I, like every other person behind the scenes of NZSB, am dedicating my time and effort to this mission.
It is with great pleasure, I welcome you all to the re-launch of the New Zealand Snowboarding website.
